our story.
ECHO Church started out of a desire to reach the people of east London with the love of Jesus.
A few years ago, I began to seek God to understand the next steps He had for me. I have always had a heart for east London, for reaching the next generation with the love of Jesus and for ensuring church is missional in its approach. I felt God speak to me from a verse in 1 Thessalonians 1:7-8 which says, 'Your lives are echoing the Master's Word, not only in the provinces but all over the place.' (MSG).
Something stirred in my heart realising that this verse was not just a personal mandate for me, but was going to be the way we as a team plant churches.
The part of London we are giving focus to is Newham - a bustling 'city within a city'; full of people of various ages, ethnicities and backgrounds. We have a heart to build church that is intentional in reaching into those communities and bringing the light of Jesus..
Let's see what God might do as we step out in faith!

To plant missional hubs that echo Jesus everywhere through strategically PRAYING, creatively LOVING, continually CONNECTING and simply GROWING people to faith.​
Our heart is to see the church mobilised to reach the unreached starting with a particular focus on the east end of London.
Jesus taught us in Matthew 28:19 to ‘Go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father, son and Holy Spirit.’
The borough of Newham, where we want to start, is in east London; the third most populous borough in the city, has the youngest population of all London boroughs, has the second highest rate of poverty in the capital and is the most ethnically diverse place in the UK - a great place to ‘make disciples.’

Our heart is to strategically reach people all over this vast borough, being open to the Holy Spirit to lead us in new ways. We want the way we ‘do church’ to be flexible and out of the box while also being passionate about reaching the unreached of which many of them reside in this part of London.

Our heart is to pioneer and build a church that prays, loves, connects and grows every person that it comes into contact with.
